Bosco Verticale, one of the 50 most iconic skyscrapers of the last 50 years.

New recognition from the “Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat”, a non-profit organization devoted to sustainable urban design, which already in 2015 named the green towers of Porta Nuova one of the most beautiful buildings in the world. Designed by Boeri, Barreca and La Varra, its interiors are covered with Lea Ceramiche surfaces.

Among the most symbolic skyscrapers built in the last 50 years, Bosco Verticale, built in Milan in 2014, is part of one of the city’s most radical urban redevelopment projects. The skyscraper, designed and planned by Boeri Studio (Stefano Boeri, Gianandrea Barreca and Giovanni La Varra) and built and managed by Coima, consists of two 110 and 76-metre-high towers, whose façades house 711 trees, 5,000 large shrubs and 15,000 perennial and hanging plants, covering an area equivalent to two hectares of forestation.

Bosco Verticale, which is considered to be one of the tall buildings that has contributed the most to the local area and urban community, has represented, since its construction, a model for all subsequently designed buildings that feature vegetation integrated in their architectural structure.

An innovative and experimental project, since the early design stages Bosco Verticale has been a challenge that Lea Ceramiche, together with Panariagroup, faced by offering its natural tendency to experiment with different styles and codes to create a dialogue between the ceramic material with the architecture and interior. This has resulted in environments in which large thin slabs with a thickness of just 3.5 mm have been used to cover the interiors. Created with a technology that involves, in comparison to traditional stoneware, considerably lower consumption of raw materials, water and energy, as well as lower emissions of pollutants and CO2, Lea Ceramiche tiles have thus become a key element of a building that is not only one of the most sustainable in the world, but also one of the most beautiful.

Shipping and logistics are still operational.

Italy, as well as many other countries around the world, is engaged in an aggressive battle against the spread of the Covid-19 virus.

In order to keep the number of infections to a minimum, the Italian government has declared the temporary and limited closure of many manufacturing industries.

Nevertheless, certain activities related to the supervision of continuous production plants, such as the ones used in ceramic tile manufacturing, together with the preparation and shipping of stock materials have been permitted.

Therefore our warehouses and shipment departments remain fully operational, in full respect of the recent regulations imposed by the relevant authorities. Our staff will therefore continue to prepare and load merchandise, observing all of the necessary health and safety precautions.

Thanks to the remote working technologies that have already been implemented, all other sales supporting activities as well as your commercial and administrative contacts remain available, as always, to handle your requests.

We therefore wish to inform you that even during this manufacturing standstill, it is still possible to place orders, consult stock availability, request information, and pick up goods from our warehouses.
