DINN! chooses Lea Ceramiche’s Type 32 for the new BPER Banca concept

BPER Banca’s new branch model, launched at its offices in Reggio Emilia and Bologna, features an innovative experiential concept in which design and technology introduce customers to a new experience of openness and connection with BPER Banca. The concept, conceived and developed by DINN!, a design innovation company based in Milan, aims to develop a complete service integrated with the design of the interiors, in which it is easy for customers to move around, explore and understand the opportunities available to them. “Nearby. Above expectations” is the value promise that sums up the bank’s new identity based on customer needs and a tailored service. A welcoming and comfortable open space named “Botanical Garden” that aims to convey a full understanding of the areas where customers live.

As part of this new branch concept, DINN! chose to include Lea Ceramiche’s Type 32 Slimtech range in the project. Slimtech slabs in a custom size (20x100cm) made of thin laminated stoneware (5.5mm thick) are characterized by two overlapping layers. The first, more tactile layer consists of a screen print that plays with the theme of realism, reproducing the appearance of wood. The second, more graphic layer consists of a decoration based on the repetition of an oblique line in four different patterns.

Type 32, used on the wall of the bank’s entrance or as panelling in the customer reception and consulting areas, emphasizes and encapsulates the new style of the BPER Banca brand. A comfortable and welcoming place for interaction, made even more open thanks to the simplification of most of the physical barriers: the transparent partition walls recall the graphic design of Type, a decoration repeated in the different rooms as a distinctive feature of the entire project.

According to Andrea Borsetto, Chief Creative & Founder of DINN!:

“Type 32 was chosen because we were looking for an aesthetically striking technical material that is elegant and modern at the same time. BPER, a customer with an important history that is nonetheless highly future-oriented, required a design hallmark with this compromise: a solution that bridges the gap between a contemporary language and the echo of a classic style. An eye-catching decorative style that fits the context and that is both welcoming and innovative.”

Lea Ceramiche’s Type 32 Slimtech range is designed by Diego Grandi; he received the ADI Compasso D’Oro Honourable Mention in 2016 and he won the Chicago Athenaeum’ Good Design Award in 2014.

"Since 2003 I have created five collections for Lea Ceramiche, which have marked several key moments in a process of interpreting the material, a process that has been constant over time."
