Kartell has recently inaugurated its new store in Genoa, in Via XXV Aprile, a historic and representative street of the Ligurian capital with its elegant nineteenth-century buildings, trendy clubs and refined boutiques. In the flagship store designed by architect Ferruccio Laviani, for many years the brand’s art director, and located in the “Superba”, understated and rational environments, softened by granite arches and columns, allow visitors to enjoy the Kartell experience in an immersive way, allowing them to experience first hand the beauty and quality of the renowned brand. From the latest collections in the catalogue, through those that are the standard-bearers of Kartell, the Flagship store in Genoa is the address of design where one will find the most diverse furnishing solutions united by a constant search for technology and new materials.

In a space with these prerequisites, there was a need for ceramic surfaces with a strong design content, ones that have long been recognised as representative of a decidedly distinct and authoritative style: that of Lea Ceramiche.

The architect Laviani, who boasts a long collaboration with both brands, has opted for a collection designed by Fabio Novembre, Slimtech Concreto, which celebrates concrete as a symbol of modern architecture. With its sophisticated minimalism, Concreto was considered as the ideal surface for enhancing Kartell’s proposals and connoting the Genoese store with an extremely contemporary, practical and versatile product, making the store even more sophisticated.

170 square metres of Slimtech Concreto slabs were laid in the fascinating Light nuance – very close to the timeless dove grey – with a precise objective:

Kartell is always looking for new modes of expression, not only through products but also through its stores” – explained Ferruccio Laviani – “The Kartell retail concept, in fact, is constantly evolving to align with the trends and needs of the present. This is why Concreto by Lea Ceramiche was used, flooring and wall covering that, in addition to being consistent with the contemporary nature of the Kartell product, was also easy and versatile in terms of sizes and finishes.”
