Lumière at Malcolm Residence

Designed by world-renowned architect William Hefner, the new Lumiere at Malcom building is a residential development located in the heart of Westwood, Los Angeles. Each residence, complete with a private terrace, features high-end details and finishes, wooden flooring and Italian-made ceramic surfaces. A contemporary architectural project with generous outdoor spaces, it offers a wide range of amenities, including a heated swimming pool with lounge area and a state-of-the-art fitness centre. Lea Ceramiche surfaces, combining outstanding performance with impeccable aesthetics, were selected for this new luxury project, both for the common areas and the apartments.

For the entrance and lobby of the residence, the stone-effect Nextone collection from the 3-Tech Project range was selected, offering a solution suitable for a wide variety of applications. By combining different technical performances within a single aesthetic concept, the 3-Tech Project collections ensure stylistic continuity and technical performance through one aesthetic language available in different thicknesses, meeting the functional requirements of every project: Slimtech, premium large-format thin slabs; full-body porcelain stoneware in traditional thickness; and L2, 20 mm-thick porcelain stoneware designed for outdoor applications.

Nextone was therefore selected for the common areas in the Next Grey colour, in the 60x60 cm format with a thickness of 9.5 mm, and in the Slimtech version in the 120x260 cm format with a thickness of 6 mm. The same collection was used in the warm Next Taupe shade, in the 60x60 cm format and 20 mm thickness, for the pool and terraces, conceived as relaxation areas where residents can enjoy a lunch break or an aperitif overlooking the sun deck.

For the kitchen, the design studio opted for a backsplash created with the Noblesse collection, in the refined Calacatta Oro shade and in the 120x278 cm format with a thickness of 6 mm. The collection reinterprets an ancient natural material such as marble with a contemporary perspective, in keeping with the latest stylistic codes. The kitchen island, meanwhile, was clad with slabs from MAXA, also part of Panariagroup and specialising in large 12 mm-thick slabs in the 160x320 cm format.

Finally, for the bathrooms, the marble-effect Timeless Marble collection was used for the wall coverings in the elegant Statuario White shade, in the 100x300 cm format and 6 mm thickness, adding character to the interiors and interpreting marble as an expression of timeless elegance. For the flooring, Waterfall was selected in the Dark Flow colour, in the 60x60 cm format and 9.5 mm thickness: a collection capable of recreating on the porcelain stoneware surface the shifting effects typical of sedimentary rock, capturing textures, irregularities and variations in colour.
